Take a moment and think about all the classes you are required to take in GCC as part of your general education requirement. Are they all helpful, useful, or beneficial to student education? Brainstorm a few classes you feel are pointless, irrelevant or detrimental to student success. In a short paragraph to President Ryan Cornner, propose the removal of this course from GCC’s GE requirements. You must clearly describe the class, explain your reasons for its removal, and propose what kind of course can replace this one. Be persuasive!

Because of our current situation with COVID19, I am adding a second topic that you might want to pick (this isn’t mentioned in my video; I added this option because of recent developments):
Take a moment and review the actions and policies GCC has implemented as a result of the COVID19 outbreak in our city. You might want to consider the steps President/Superintendent Cornner has already taken to ensure the health and safety of GCC students (i.e. vaccine mandate for all enrolled students, masks in classrooms, sanitizer stations, remote learning options, etc.). You might also want to consider what is currently NOT being done to benefit enrolled students. In a short paragraph to President Cornner, propose a policy or action that will benefit GCC students in light of this recent pandemic. Your letter can also propose a removal of a policy that is already implemented at GCC. You should contextualize your proposition, clarify your reasons, and make sure your justifications are reasonable (i.e. Give us all A’s is a biased and unhelpful idea even if it might be attractive to most students).Proposals should be 1-2 paragraphs in length
