Your patient is a 23-year-old male patient who is a baseball pitcher. After an intense training, he started suffering from pain in the right shoulder. The pain was more evident when lifting and lowering the right arm. However, it was present at rest and during the night when the patient was lying on the right side. On the physical exam, the orthopedist found a limited range of motion on external rotation and abduction.
Please provide a 2-3 sentence analysis of the case. Then, answer the following questions:
What are the muscles that form the rotator cuff of the shoulder?
