Developing leadership skills is an important step towards becoming a professional nurse. Think about your clinical or simulation day. Who were the leaders during clinical or simulation day? Were they appointed leaders like a charge nurse or a natural leader such as a staff nurse that others naturally turn to for guidance? What character traits and behaviors did this leader demonstrate? Were the traits and behaviors positive or negative? What leadership role did you play during the clinical or simulation day? What attributes do you look for in a leader?
