1. For each of the assigned readings, summarize (a) their central research goal/question; (b) the language(s) and numerical/mathematical skills in question from their particular investigations; (c) tasks/measures they used to assess potential language/cultural effects on the given mathematical ability; and (d) main findings. 
2. Give a synthesis (synthesized conclusions and main research findings across these readings) of what we learn from research from this perspective regarding the role of linguistic and cultural experiences in shaping mathematical thinking. 
3. Your reflections and/or questions on the role linguistic and cultural experiences may play in the ways people develop to process numerical and mathematical information. Here are two examples just for your reference: (a) Given the evidence from the literature, do you believe the current field knowledge (e.g., theories, task design) about how people acquire numerical and mathematical concepts may largely reflect only a limited scope tied to only certain linguistic/cultural influences due to the way the field has been conducting the relevant research investigations?
