You will write your own story of a hero’s journey. Your hero should go through at least six of the stages in the hero’s journey as described below.
Along the way, your hero should meet at least three archetypes. The journey can be set wherever and whenever you’d like, but remember that you need to distinguish between the ordinary and special worlds. It can be fantasy or science fiction; it can also be something more modern or edgy.
Your story should be a minimum of 1,250 words (typically 5 pages).
This is a creative assignment, so you should have fun with it! Be sure to add dialogue and figurative language. Your characters can use colloquial language if you’d like. Do what you can to make the story engaging, but remember to check for clarity, focus, organization, and mechanics.
